Who we are

Dan and Tom are two Australians who bonded over legacy systems, loud music, and late-night rants about bad transformation programmes.

Between them, they’ve spent decades working in data, tech, and insurance learning that legacy systems, much like old bands and old movies, still have plenty to teach us.

They started Metamorphic to help organisations see the value in what’s already there before someone suggests rewriting it all “for agility.”

Meet the Team

  • CEO and Co-Founder

Dan Pears. Co-founder of Metamorphic Services. Drummer. Heavy metal nerd. Recovering consultant.

He’s spent two decades working in data, tech, and transformation. Roughly the same length of time he’s been explaining why legacy systems aren’t evil.

An Australian by origin and problem-solver by compulsion, Dan believes the best way to fix complex systems (or breakdown a song) is to actually listen to them first.

He started Metamorphic to help organisations do exactly that.

  • CPO and Co-Founder

Tom Richardson. Co-founder of Metamorphic Services. Tech geek. Insurance veteran. Simpsons quote machine.

Tom’s spent the last twenty years helping insurers make sense of their systems and occasionally their existential crises. He’s worked across architecture, data, and transformation, which means he’s fluent in both COBOL and corporate buzzwords (though he prefers the former).

He co-founded Metamorphic with Dan to prove that legacy systems aren’t relics. They’re the company’s real memory.

When he’s not dissecting application maps, he’s probably dissecting movie plots. And yes, he can find a Simpsons quote for every meeting.

  • CTO and Co-Founder

Sudarshan Damle. Co-Founder of Metamorphic Services.

He has spent the last twenty years in consulting, helping organisations navigate complex technology decisions without losing sight of the humans caught up in them. Dynamic, highly driven, and seemingly immune to normal working hours, he brings relentless energy to every engagement and a calm pragmatism forged at the sharp end of transformation, where theory quickly collides with reality.

Outside of work, Sudarshan devotes significant time to charitable initiatives, the gym, motorbike rides, and driving across the country whenever he can. He also takes his responsibilities as a Bollywood movie co-pilot seriously, courtesy of regular film nights with his son. Thoughtful, grounded, and quietly unstoppable, he believes the best solutions come from empathy, discipline, and sustained effort.
